It’s good to discuss your particular project over the phone or arrange a convenient meeting, perhaps on site. Get advise on all aspects of your project design and build, with respect for your needs and requirements.
An initial brief and sketch design process can begin and we can explore the various options available to you. It is good to discuss aesthetic likes and dislikes, building methods, environmental and sustainability issues. Also day to day building usage, priorities such as running costs, restrictions on site, practicalities and health & safety etc. Once it is fully understood what your project requires, work to prepare sketch layouts and an artist’s impression / 3D perspective of how your project can look will begin. This is often very helpful to clients who find it difficult to look at traditional architect’s black and white ‘line’ drawings. Sketches will include real life items such as people, furniture, cars etc to give you a feeling of size and proportion.
Once you are happy with your design, then detailed architectural plans, specification, calculations and documents for your project will be put together. These will be suitable for planning consent, building warrant approval & builder’s estimating. No need to wory about the planning/warrant applications and approvals for your project, as this is all done for you. This is day in day out work in the office and can take a lot of the stress of the project from you. Also get help to find any other consultants required for your project.
Ready to go
Once you are all approved and ready to start, SDS will not be far away. Whilst being primarily a design service SDS are always on hand to help with any advice or issues you may want help with once on site. SDS is also able to arrange more formal site supervision if you require it, such as for lending purposes etc. As stated before, the most important thing to us, are our satisfied clients. Without you, we would not have the high referral rate which keeps us in business today.
Green technologies and sustainable construction are the future, there is no doubt about that. Whether you are confused by solar, wind or biomass fuel sources or puzzled by Passiv, SIPS or kit constructions, what is important is the carbon emissions. The government and property market now rates all properties on their carbon dioxide emissions. This is why SDS now uses accredited specialist design to create Carbon Zero properties where required and local authority level carbon reduction to meet modern standards and suit your needs. SDS is however sensitive to the balance of this with project capital and maintenance costs.

What you see is what you get!
Right from the start SDS makes sure you can see how your project will look when it is complete, with 3D artistic impressions (even videos) to stimulate the imagination. This is helpful for many people who find it difficult to imagine how their project will look , when traditionally faced with black and white flat technical drawings. Click on the video to see how great it would be to virtually fly around your project before it ever started.
